Would it be possible to have a text baloon appear above a character's head when he uses a power that already has an fx?  The topic on how to represent intelligence in the game made me think that I'd probably like to have a smart character "say" something when he uses his intelligence related power.  So, for example, the character would shoot the raygun and say, "This neg-ray should do the trick."

I suppose the extension to this is that Ben could yell "Its Clobbern' Time!"

Thanks.

Yes you could have a graphic that appears over a characters head that's just a word bubble. It would be a simple matter of copying a FX's start.nif that has a simple graphic over the head and swapping in the new dds/tga.

Xenolith

I know it can be done by itself (i.e. the only fx), but could it be done with a projecticle, or a cone...at the same time as the word baloon?

I think what area is saying is that if you have the text with the start.nif, then the core.nif could be the projectile and the end.nif could be, y'know, how it ends.

So yeah, it would work all together.

Xenolith

Oh, I see.  Yes, then it might work.

Text = billboard.nif
beam = core.nif
splat =end.nif

for example.

I could probably make the end.nif the text balloon, too.  I'll have to experiment with this...
