I got back into Freedom Force a while ago and at the time I was using Windows Vista (Don't know if this has anything to do with the problem) and I had gotten the FFX, EZFX 6.0, and then PFX downloads... that's when I learned I needed to merge them to have all of the FXs in the game. I was told to use FFEdit but it wouldn't work on my laptop for some reason... I tried opening the files in notepad and just copy and pasting and it worked. Then, I went to Windows 7 and I tried this but everything looked like it was in some language off of the Predator movies... it did not work this time. If someone has the FX.DAT with all files could I be given a copy of it? And secondly, was this just some kind of luck thing that it worked for me before? How do you guys do it? Has anyone else had some error stating Freedom Force vs. the 3rd Reich isn't installed when opening FFEdit? Thanks, bye.

I believe I've stated this a few times, but PFX is already pre-merged with EZFX and FFX, so merging the dats again is kind of redundant and unnecessary unless you have CUSTOM fx installed that didn't come with any of the other packages. And yes, others have gotten that error, and there are a few threads about it all over the forum. The installer may not be finding your registry entry.

Yes, I read that one. I also read your comments on the site where I even downloaded it... maybe it is a registry issue, then. Its either just PFX or the other but not all of them. XO

dont know if i can help, but I both had problems getting FF edit to install, and getting PFX to work. i also have windows 7 (64bit)

for FF edit, I re-installed FFvsTR, so it was fresh with no FFX or any other mods. Then the mod tools just installed right away.

i'll send you my fx.dat that seems to have FFX, ezfx, and PFX all merged together. i had problems with that too, for some reason even though they are suppose to work together without merging. Anyway, i figured it out and hopefully it'll work for ya too. Try replacing it with the fx.dat in your FFX folder.
