I am making a campaign mod...

Imperios

So, I've decided to make a campaign mod... But I didn't came up with what it will be about.

Current ideas are:
* Continue the story of FFvTR, adding new heroes such as TKA-4 or Volcano, villians, etc.
* Make my own city and story (Justice Coast?), with completely different heroes (TKA-4 will work here as well).
* Make a villian campaign. Take old villians and remake them into playable characters (I can imagine Nuclear Winter as a first character with Minuteman/El Diablo like abilities.)
* (weirdest) Make a campaign about SporeWiki Fiction Universe, with various aliens and spacers as heroes and villians. I can show you a link.

So, what do you think is better?

Epimethee

No FF villain campaign has ever been done, so that would be extra nice. But of course, if you end up with more than 3 or 4 mission, the first three concepts can be mixed together.

Whatever you choose, have fun!

I'm definitely voting for the villian campaign too. Very Astro-city-like. A great idea.

A villain campaign sounds like an awesome idea. It also lightens your workload by quite a bit by providing you with readymade character art.

An Astro City mod would rock my socks.

I love the idea of a villains campaign!

Imperios

Okay, so villian campaign.

I already came up with background. Probably major villians were taken into some jail/asylum thingie (El Diablo mentions one once), and they escape, but now, they unite under command of... Nuclear Winter? (dunno, since he is a nemesis to the Minuteman he can be a leader) and are going on their way to avenge Freedom Force. Probably there should be robbing missions...

Probably even weakened Time Master can be a character.

So, I am thinking about minions. Will they fight for a villian team? I can imagine them helping in missions like cops. Or they could be a summonable creatures like clones and elementals...

Another issue is changing villians' stats so they could fit as playables.

Maybe:
* Nuclear Winter: medium character with frost and radiation powers. Like Minuteman or ED? BTW, is temporary transformation possible in code? If it is, I could add Glacial Giant transform ability.
* Shadow: Hm... She could have high agility and speed, yet heavy weaknesses... Like Bullet? Her cloak ability could be interesting.
* Pinstripe: Heavy, slow character concentrated on shooting, probably with ability to summon thugs.
* Deja Vu: THAT'S a problem. I can't find a way to make him playable. Maybe limit clones? Is it possible?
* Dominion, Pan, October and Entropy just can't be here.
* Blitzkrieg can probably be a recruitable character, as well as all Nazi villians. But I wonder - Nuclear Winter is Russian... And well, in Russia, day we pwned Nazis is a national celebration.
* Time Master can probably be Mentor-like crowd controller, with strong ranged attacks.
* Mechanical is a problem... He is big and there is no way to make him smaller.
* A problem is that game lack any "heavy" villians, save for Mechie. Maybe make new ones?

Amazo Version 2.2

this all sounds really interesting, best of luck with the project.
For anyone, and everyone, who has ever done anything to improve the FF/FFvs3R gaming experience, I want to say thank you. Life is so short, and you have all brought me so much joy. I hope that one day, I am somehow able to return the kindness and generosity that all of you have shown.

A villain campaign sounds like a real blast Imperios!  You could set it shortly after FFII, and it would fit in pretty well.  Are you planning on scripting it or using EZScript?  Yeah, you could have missions where the villains had to steal an object, had to destroy something the citizens were trying to protect, and even defending their own bases and secret weapons.  The real question would be how to end it, because letting the villains win is a difficult proposition.  You could go the GI JOE route and have one villain be conspiring against the others, and he gets what he wants, but it comes at the expense of his team-mates.  Either way, the tension of a villain team would make for some great fun in writing the story!

Have you played Patriot City: Tales?  There is a rogue temporal twin introduced in one of the missions who might fit in such a team.

In terms of the leader, I'd say Mr. Mechanical might fit that role, as NW is pretty bat-guano insane.  Still, NW does have the whole charismatically crazy thing going for him.

Yeah, I think some of the minions would serve a villain team.  I'd mix it up.  Pinstripe might come with "private army," as might Shadow, while someone like Pan might be able to summon troops.  Others you can just account for in the story.  'The minions are going to keep the cops busy while we steal the diamond,' kind of thing.

In terms of character builds, don't be afraid to let the villains be relatively powerful.  You can always tweak the opponents they'll face to be tougher.

*NW sounds good.  He should translate relatively well.  You could actually just give him shapeshifter, but give his giant form the attirbute that makes you either A) unable to regenerate energy, or B) progressively lose life, so that the player will be forced to change back.  You could also give him accidental change, where he grows to giant size when he gets enraged or something.  You could always skope his giant size down a bit to make it more manageable too.
*Shadow: Yeah, she's your batman character.  She should be almost ready to go as-is.
*Pinstripe: Just make sure to throw in lots of villains who do non-physical damage, and he'll be balanced out by that.
*I think you could find a way to bring Pan in, but you're right about the others.  Pan's always eager for another date with Eve. ;)
*I would leave the Nazi villains out so you didn't have to deal with time travel, but if you DO bring them in, they should definitely cause tension with the other villains!
*Time Master: I'd adapt a temporal twin to fill that role, a ranged attacker weak in melee.
*Mechanical: Yeah, you'd need to either skope his suit down or find a stand-in.  He could always make a new suit that would be lighter, faster, and smaller.

There's always room for new villains.  You could also bring in some of the characters from Liberty Bay.  If you want a heavy one, how about a villainous Subterrestrial?

1) Make it like a Legion of Doom thing where they band together and the early missions are gathering resources and developing new powers to beat Freedom Force
2) Unlockable powers - way more fun than starting out with everything but you'll need to make some adjustments.

Pan should have a transmute attack that turns civilians into minions.

Deja Vu  - either nerf his clone power or simplyu make it Accidental Cloning.

Shadow - eliminate Darkmen and give her pheromones or hypnotism. Nerf the Cloak power.

Mechanical - Driver Attribute all the way; can have several different summonable conveyances with different strengths and weaknesses.

Hm...

Maybe Mechie found Microwave and reverse-engineered it, making a suit called Mechwave?

Don't forget that Mechanical likes big clunky and asymmetrical. So it would be a LARGE suit probably somewhat bigger than Manbot.

I think he should be more like a gadgeteer. Give him the weapon bearer attribute and a summonable air car, a mecha and something esle like a wheeled ground vehicle or a mole machine.

Or maybe a suit the same size as Manbot: Spaceman Eyebrow is basically Male Basic sitting in Manbot with a clear dome over the head. I've done several variations that look pretty good (for Adolph Hitler, The Red Skull, Baron Zemo and Baron Strucker).

Imperios

Hm...
A problem is I don't have  meshes for it.

And BTW, driver attribute? Is it possible?

You can find Spaceman_Eyebrow here:

I don't know where it was originally posted.

Style's scope of Mr. Mechanical in a giant robot is here:

http://ffcenter.net/champions/index.html

Style also has a smaller man-in-a-robot there too.

I can't find the scope of Male Basic in the same robot as Mr. Mechanical up there, but maybe someone else knows.

You'll definitely want to use FFX for this.  It allows everything from transforming into multiple forms or even involuntarily, to driver abilities, and beyond.  Lots of cools stuff you'll find useful.

Also, while it isn't so obvious, Pinstripe's actual power is density control, so you could do a lot with that.  FFX includes gravity increasing powers and the ability to alter density at will, both of which would be appropriate.  I could suggest one of his power sets be density based and the other one gangster/tommy gun based.
I am the cat that walks by himself, all ways are alike to me.

Spaceman eyebrow would be a fantastic base for a Mr. Mechanical skope and skin.  I could definitely see that working.  I also LOVE the idea of Mechanical having the "Driver" attribute, able to summon a mech suit, a car, and various other such things.  That would be super awesome.

Yeah, Cat is absolutely right.  If you haven't already been using FFX, just for your gaming, you have been MAJORLY missing out.  However, for modding it is a must.  I'd definitely suggest making the mod for FF2, as there are more people playing that one these days, plus there are more people creating content for it.

Yes, I am going to make it on FFvTR.

Problem is that I cannot find any tutorials for modding FFvTR. Since it is first time I mod FFvTR, it is hard... Anybody knows any FFvTR modding tutorials?
