It may be free, but some things never change...

No doubt about it, the game has changed dramatically since I last played.  Atlas Park is so different, it hardly feels like the same zone.  I was actually able to roll a heroic Mastermind, which was very cool.

But -- some things never change.

Last night after I hit level 5 on my new character I got the obligatory tell asking for help with Frostfire.  Guess I passed too close to the entrance to the hazard zone. {sigh}

I imagine that mission has probably changed too, but I couldn't bring myself to want to run it again just yet.  Especially not at level 5.  Ugh.  Too many bad memories of team wipes.

I know what you mean, BB.  Recently, I was running about with the Volsung Bunburyist for a bit in Atlas Park when, after entering the Plaza, I received two different tells wondering if I wanted to join a supergroup.  It was at that moment that I realised that either Volsung Bunburyist never got added to that multiple-era concept supergroup many moons ago, or the supergroup no longer exists.  :ph34r:  Was that group Alaric's idea, or yours, BB?

Two words: Moog.

Frostfire's not that hard now.  I have run it with like 4 characters and the super sidekicking system means that you never have to worry about being too low level to play content, as long as the leader is high enough.

I wonder what its like now then as I used to solo it, though not at AV level.

still soloable by many builds and at's... still a nightmare for early controllers and and solo defenders.

This very mission was cited as a reason we have the autocomplete function now, no?

Strange thing is I have started three new toons blueside recently and haven't been sent to the Hollows.

With the new training missions, you can bypass and outlevel the Hollows quite easily now.  My hero in exalted has successfully done so.  Also note that the new find a contact system means you needn't miss any available open contacts ever again.  You can even teleport once to any contact that is available but whom you don't have on your contact list yet.

It's funny, I rolled a new defender the other night and immediately hopped on a sewer trial. We were trying to get the badges and someone pooched it, so I immediately went for another run.
Upon leaving that I was ready for part one of the Posi TF (which I still hadnt done since the revamp).
Toon is now level 15 with less than 3 hours played and I never saw Detective Walnuts or whatever his name is at the gate to the Hollows.

Not that I don't enjoy the Hollows. I do. But to have the option of never going there on a brand new Empathy Defender?
That's just made of win.

and I never even saw the training arcs.

There were two "time travel" themed SG's on Infinity:  Paradox Patrol and Tempus Fugitives.  I haven't reactivated any of those characters as of yet, but I'm relatively sure the SG's still exist.  I'm trying to decide whether to buy Time Manipulation and re-roll Brother Chronos.  Voice of Wind was the leader of PP and I can easily get that going if anyone is interested.  I forget who started Tempus Fugitives.
