Come vote on our next Iron Chef style battle.

So we are kicking off our new, modernized website with an Iron Chef style battle, but before that happens we need some help. Basically the theme for this one are these horrible 1970's recipe cards and we are having people choose the most intersting 4, which will be randomly assigned. It will be up to us to make it from scratch (instead of all the shortcuts in those old recipes) and make it good if possible.

Having grown up in the 70's, I have to say that not only have I never seen a sandwich loaf, I've never even heard of the concept.  It's like a long, decorated Dagwood sandwich, but with horrible fillings.  The one pictured looks so wrong that I can't even find the appropriate words.  I'm not sure if even hardcore Scots and Norwegians would eat that thing, and they eat haggis and lutefisk!

Growing up in Mexico I had "Sandwichon" a lot at birthday parties... which was basically multiple whitebread sandwiches, frosted with cream cheese and sliced like cake... usually it was good, one of the the common fillings was pulled chicken or a homemade deviled ham like substance. We are kind of fighting over the sandwich, it looks challenging but promising.

We are all pretty terrified of the Seafood Mousse though, and it looks like a likely poll winner.

It was pretty brutal and we were working with some fairly unsavory recipes as a point of reference. Still I'm happy to report that your own friendly neighborhood forumite was the winner of the battle!
