Prayers out to the victims of the Aurora massacre

In case you hadn't heard yet, during the midnight showing of "The Dark Knight Rises" in a metroplex in Aurora, Colorado, a man cut loose with guns in a crowded theatre.  At least 15 people were killed, 50 wounded, and some of them were just kids.

This is every bit as sick, twisted, and evil as anything we've ever seen in movies and comics, but this is real.  One more senseless atrocity in a world of atrocities.  The irony behind the venue of this attack is not lost on me and I'm sure it's not coincidental.  I'm not blaming the film itself, mind you.  But I have a sinking feeling that the person behind this decided that if he couldn't be the hero, he'd take the role of villain.

I'm praying for the victims and the survivors of this attack.  My heart goes out to them.  I am also heartsick over the darkness and moral decay in our society that breeds this kind of thing.  No hero or politician can save us from it, but there's no question that we need saving.  I'm praying for the spirit of healing, of consolation, of courage, and of conviction over our nation.

i just heard about this on the radio, its horrible. my prayers go out to the victims and there families.
For anyone, and everyone, who has ever done anything to improve the FF/FFvs3R gaming experience, I want to say thank you. Life is so short, and you have all brought me so much joy. I hope that one day, I am somehow able to return the kindness and generosity that all of you have shown.

I had not heard about this... That is just awful. I know the theatres in my city were full of teenagers. I can not imagine what these families are going through. Praying for those affected by this, and for the healing of our society. Thank you for pointing it out BlueBard...

Just read about this on CNN. What a horrible terrible tragedy. I'm seeing a lot of people in the comment section of the story, forming two camps. One that says this crime proves that citizens need to be armed (conceal carry) and the other camp saying this crime proves that citizens need to be disarmed. How about just keeping the victims and their families in your prayers people?

Such a tragedy.  my heart goes out to the families of the dead and wounded and all others who had to witness.  I refrain from taking any political stance here on FR.  I just wonder how many of us who were going out to one of these screenings.  Bless you all FR friend and family.

I agree keep the victims in your prayers and put the politics on hold.

It was very difficult to read the coverage on this sensless tragedy. I knew a lot of people who went to midnight premieres of this movie, and although we are no where near Colorado it could have happened anywhere. I can not imagine what this community is going through.

Thank you FR Family for not resorting to the political debate that has consumed every other discussion that I have seen on the web. The debate should wait. Right now people are hurting, and mourning. We need to mourn with them, and pray.

So sensless...I hope we all kiss our families goodnight tonight as we go to bed.

Good for FR not getting sidetracked by politics.  I couldn't believe this was true when I heard the news, and it's difficult to find the right words to express my horror at a tragedy like this.  My heart breaks for the victims who have been made to suffer because of one mad man.  Our prayers are with those folks in CO. and with our nation.
God Bless
