i need help with EZSCRIPT

Hello am trying out EZSCRIPT but i have run into a problem i need help with.
the problem is in my my mini mod which is just some encounters and intergeations "sorry dont how to spell that word" my first encounter works and show a yellow arrow where the minons are but i tryed to make it so after that encounter it makes a arrow to the other encounter but the problem is when i finish the first encounter no arrow shows up for the second one the minions spawn but no arrow shows up and if i find the minions without the arrows they just stand still and dont do any thing.
Am sorry for the noobie question am brand new to ezsript so thanks in advance for help

Hi mdw11 im also kinda new to EZSCRIPT but maybe i can help you because i've done many of the misstakes recently , in what cutscene do you put the arrow ? and are you sure that you write the right name on the character that you want to point the arrow on ? i do all my arrows in the alert cutscene.

Howdy Mdw!  Welcome to the community and to modding.  I'm always glad to see new folks trying out EZScript.  Let me recommend two things, first, could you post your script so we can get a look at it?  Second, try to slow down and use punctuation when you post.  I had something of a hard time reading your post, which in turn makes it harder for me to help you. 

Anyway, it sounds like the second encounter isn't getting started properly.  Are you using EZScript Editor?

thank you both for posting try to work on my punctuation  i was in rush while typing and am not the best at grammar .
to answer   jocke32 i put  the arrow in the alert cutscene and i think i wrote the name properly it is thug_with_bat.
To answer benton grey i will post my script later when i go on my pc.also what is EzScript editor when i read one of the tutorials it says to use you notepad is this not the best thing to use or is EZ script something else sorry my probley noobie question

Ezscript editor is a program that makes it easier for you to make scripts, you can download it here http://ezscript.wikispaces.com/Mod+Tools .
With your thug_with_bat problem, are you having more then 1 villian(or minion) then you have to use a , like
Villains: thug_with_gun, thug_with_bat, thug_with_bat .

thanks for giving me the link to ezscript editor i downloaded it i and read my script on it and there was a few things that where red but i fixed them and then tryed the mission agian and i still get the same problem so heres the script

Alright Mdw, I dropped your mission into EZScript and gave it a quick look.  First off, always make sure that you post scripts using the quote or spoilers features of the forums.  That way you can be sure that the forums won't format them weirdly and give you errors you didn't have before.  Also, that way you can copy and paste straight from the forums to the Editor.  Anyway, I'm not sure what your specific problem was, but I saw several things that could make EZScript very unhappy.  I went ahead and did some basic editing, and you'll find the beginnings of a revised mission below.  I recommend you check out my guide here:

It's got some good tips on stuff that we often don't think about when we start using EZScript.

Now, specifically the problems I saw had to do with your naming and encounter construction.  ALWAYS give your Encounters and characters simple names.  Try to avoid spaces and ALWAYS avoid anything other than plain, simple letters.  No punctuation, no special characters, nothing but A-Z.  You can capitalize Encounter names, but make darn sure you are consistent when you do.  Never use character names, encounter types, or anything else that will appear elsewhere in the nuts and bolts of your scripts in Encounter names.  It can confuse EZScript.  Also, Interrogation encounters don't like Minions, or, more specifically, they don't like having multiple people to chose from in terms of whom to interrogate.  I've added a villain line to your first one, with a villain entry.  Always use a villain, a SINGLE villain, for Interrogation encounters.  That will avoid confusion and problems.  You can use Minions as well, but the game looks for a villain to interrogate.  You'll also notice that I added #-------, which I put between your encounters.  This makes the script easier to read and organize, which in turn makes it easier for you to edit, and for me to read in order to help you.  I also did some minor grammatical editing.  Punctuation is your friend!  It makes writing much more clear and effective.   So, go through, continue the changes I began to make, and this SHOULD run fine.
