Buy the client, play online forever, apparently.

I played a very small part of the trial. It seemed intriguing, and I know a few of our City of Heroes players migrated there.

Yeah, I really think I have to get this now, since there's no longer any further cost to doing so, and if I don't want to play it long term, no harm done.
I am the cat that walks by himself, all ways are alike to me.

late to the party but I played TSW pretty extensively when it came out, it was never worth the sub, you can easily complete the full storyline within your first month, the story, I might add, is awesome, but if you crash during any cutscene, which the game was prone to do in its first few months, you never get to repeat it, unfortunately for me the game crashed during my end of game cutscene, so I never found out what happened :/
the missions, especially the investigation missions, are great, it's nice to see a game where everything isn't based around combat, especially when the combat in TSW is pretty terrible, it's the largest failing feature of the game.
they've been promising since release that the combat would be improved, and since release they made the mobs easier to kill, but that's it, now it's FTP I jump in every now and again to check out the new missions they add each month, because the story work is so good, but It's not really a full time game IMO.

Picked it up during the steam discount since the flavor and theme of the game really attacted me since I saw it at PAX, but I just did not want to spend money on an MMO. At $22 to own the game the price seemed right and I'm really impresed so far... it has had a few really nice OMG moments and I'm just at the start of the game.
