I haven't been around as much as I would like the past few months. I went back to school recently, and this past week I finished my last semester in my Associate Degree. Sometimes I shy away from telling people because it seems like a small accomplishment, but it has required a great deal of sacrifice from my family. When my wife and I decided I would return to school we knew it would include some difficulty. Having a newborn only drove me that much harder. I wanted to complete as much of school as I could while she was still young and wouldn't remember me being away that much. Then we found out my wife was pregnant with our second! I started this semester with one child, our second was born the week of midterms, and my wife went back to work the week before finals... Life became chaotic real quick.

Anyway, Although it was tough it was well worth it. I worked very hard to juggle family life, full-time employment, volunteering with students and school. I am very thankful for the opportunity to continue my education, but I am also thankful to have some time to spend with my family before I begin working on my Bachelor's Degree this coming Fall. I am pretty excited about completing this phase of my life, and just wanted to share with you all.

Thanks everyone. When I first went to school ten years ago I had no motivation... In fact I had lots of motivation to pursue other things. Two years ago I was asked to apply for my dream job. I made it to the last interview round when they informed me that I was the right guy, but they needed a degree. Honestly, I probably was not ready for the job. But it got my butt in gear. I was so close to doing what I love with my life, and if showing the field I am dedicated enough to complete a degree will get me there... I am game.

I have a break until Fall when I will begin a cohort program. It will be an intense 18 months of school after that. My Associate degree should be enough to assist me in finding a job, but I wish to one day achieve my masters.

Anyway, I can't believe 2012 i almost over! No Myan doomsday or anything. I am looking to wasting... I mean spending some time chatting about comics, movies, and cartoons with you zany(sp?) band of misfits.
