Hey, guys.

As it will become incredibly evident in this post, I'm new to this.

Today was my first attempt at creating a mesh. To be honest, I failed miserably.

First, I checked with Ewzzy's tutorial (http://www.freedomforce.ewzzy.com/Blender.php) just to see what I would need.

Then, I downloaded and installed this bundle: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/12248

I am using Blender 2.49b, NifSkope 1.0.22, Blender Nif Scripts 2.5.5, Python 2.6.5, and PyFFI 2.1.5.

Now, here's where I started having problems.

While most people got this (with the wire arms under the solid ones):

I got this:

These are the settings I used when I imported the .nif:

I am trying to skope the NoCapeMan mesh from :ffvstr:, but it apparently doesn't like me.

After I made all the edits I wanted (and I edited it twice... :banghead:), I uploaded into NifSkope and tried to follow Ewzzy's tutorial on putting in the export.nif over the character.nif.

Didn't work.

Made the second round of edits.

Didn't work.

So now I need professional help. I need someone to tell me what's wrong so I can do this myself,

OR

I need some kind soul to create a request for me. (I saw the "Requests" forum page, but I wanted to try to see if I could go without using up someone else's time first.) In the event that I'm doomed, I'll post my request.

Please, help.

And thank you.

I only ask this because it wasn't mentioned in your post. Did you export the edited nif as a FFVTTR nif? It's been a while since I altered a mesh in Blender. I used Ewzzy's tutorial, as well. I believe if you just "save" a nif you're working on, it will save in the Blender format or as a "project". Even though you started with a Third Reich mesh/nif, you still need to export it in the same format. If what I mentioned is correct, you may just be opening up the original nif in NifSkope and, therefore, not seeing the changes, as those have been saved to another file format. I apologize that I don't have Blender installed right now or I would have double checked my suppositions before posting.

Also, you are editing the NoCapeMan mesh and Ewzzy's tutorial may have been using the male_basic mesh, so that might be why your mesh doesn't resemble the example in the tutorial.

Yes, I exported it in the FFv3R format. Though, I think the problem lies somewhere before then.

And you are right, me and Ewzzy are using different meshes. Yet another tutorial on this site used a different one, too, but it also had the wireframe arms, which I think are the telltale signs of the mesh having been imported correctly. However, I do not currently have the original Freedom Force installed.
