Making flying melee attacks beam attacks!!!

Ok, need some help again. I noticed that Benton utilised many beam attacks in his DCUG mod using melee animations such as superman flying punch. I tried to change the attack type through FFEdit and it didnt work. The attack remains melee. The reason why i want to do it is so my hero can attack airborne characters with flying melee powers. Any ideas?

So, the way Superman's flying attack works is that he has skoped keyframes and a projectile or beam power.  So, he should have a short ranged, low accuracy, high speed projectile attack (since projectiles can be dodged).  Also, he's got an appropriate looking MELEE animation where he flies forward.  I copied that animation twice, renamed one flying_melee, and renamed the second hover_flying_melee.  I also changed the "contact" points in the animation, the places where it tells the game that a melee attack hits, to leave_hand entries to make the animation ranged.  Thus, the game now uses what LOOKS like a melee animation for a ranged animation.

Yeah, projectile flying melee attacks look and behave a lot better than beam ones. Beam flying melee attacks drag out (as the character holds their animation while the beam is firing) and beams cannot be dodged.

Ok i think i get it. I know its off-topic and sorry about that but do you know if there is a map pack or something like that with extra maps?
