I just got a call from my dad.  He's apparently had a heart attack (not his first) and he's in the hospital (again).

On the plus side, he was able to make the call himself.

On the minus side, his heart is not in good shape.  He really needs a stint, but they're not sure they'll be able to do it.

If you're the praying type, please pray that the stint can go in and that his heart and circulation will improve.  Thanks!

Glitch Girl

Just said a prayer for you and your dad BB.  My thoughts are with you.

My uncle had something similar happen to him a number of years back.  The stint ended up going in fine and he's still around and has a farm up in Oregon.

Hi BlueBard, I will definitely include your Father in my prayers. I hope all turns out for the best.

I wish your father the best, BlueBard.

I will keep him in my prayers.  Just stay strong, and I hope that everything will get better soon.

Update:  According to Dad, his heart is too weak for them to be able to do any kind of surgery.  Yet they're apparently planning to release him in the next day or two.

I don't understand that.  Would be good to talk directly with his doctor, but I can't get up to Port Huron today.  Will hopefully know more this weekend.

Thanks for the prayers!

Could they try to install a pacemaker or such to help strengthen his heart to be able to take the stint?  Also what age is your father, that might be a deciding factor on if it's worth stinting him or not.

He's 70.  Word is they can't do anything for him except give him medication.  He has heart damage from a previous heart attack that's a factor.

As of yesterday he was released from the hospital.  My sister said he was able to get up and walk around and seemed "fine".

Thanks for the prayers.

i'm sorry to hear about this bluebard, i hope your father makes a strong and speedy recovery
For anyone, and everyone, who has ever done anything to improve the FF/FFvs3R gaming experience, I want to say thank you. Life is so short, and you have all brought me so much joy. I hope that one day, I am somehow able to return the kindness and generosity that all of you have shown.

Ahhh....the heart damage must be pretty close to where the stint needs to be if they aren't willing to take the chance, though, at 70 (with a weak heart) they might be playing it safe.  Hopefully the meds they give him will help out, though I'd pay attention to the side effects on the stuff because I know that some of the meds can really mess with a person badly.  Here's hoping things get better for you, mate, and I'll do a bit of research/searching for a possible alternative if you want me to.
