Base Released. Prince Charming WIP

Hi all, I've been lurking for years reading the forums, impressed with all the work everyone still makes for FF.
In 2010 I started making a base skin but never finished it. I recently found the files and tried to complete it. My PS skills have improved alot i feel, and so here is the almost complete base.:

Theres a few small touch ups that are required - namely waist seam and side seam blending and a thumb nail. But any critiques would be welcome.

Thanks Cyber, she's pretty much ready to go out now. I've added some slightly darker shading and tweaked the seams as much as i could.  Here's a finished look at the right alongside the original WIPS from 2010.

Thanks Big D, Da Glob and SCD, I'm going to look into either a yahoo group or a website of somekind to host it and make her available for anyone who wants. Hopefully the start of many more skins from me.

Sounds like a plan Artemis , go for it ! Make sure you do that when you get a chance , and above all make sure you let us know that the website and/or Yahoo Group is up and running so you can make that certain thing such as a mesh or a skin available to everyone for them to get whenever it is ready . Also , like you just said about the start of many more skins from you Artemis I do hope that you will make soon enough and I do hope that they're good one for all of us to enjoy . Check ya later !

seriously sweet artemis. i wish i could skin so i couuld use it. as for hosting it, if i remember right, there is a specific yahoo group that hosts nothing but base skins

Thanks Amazo, I'll look into it. In the meantime here's a little preview of things i'm working on.

The far right is a new avatar. It probably won't be finished until I master Nifskope to add the extras I want, but for now I'm quite happy with it. The other two a very much still WIPs.

Those previews of yours are so cool Artemis , so far so good is all I can say and above all I kind of like your design on the Red She-Hulk which is so awesome . As for your other previews such as your avatar on the far right, It looks fantastic and furthermore compared to Eve from it looks like that the skin of the avatar itself was placed on Irrational's Eve mesh judging by my guess if I am right . Anyways Artemis great job, so far you're doing great plus keep up the good work and do your best to master Nifskope and also I do hope that you get these squared away along with any other works in progress (WIPs) . I'll be praying that you will master Nifskope, and be successful at it along with your precise yet accurate completion of your latest creations whenever you get them done . Red She Hulk (God, what a terrible mouthful of a name) is looking good, too. You should look into completely reskinning the leg strap though, so it looks like there isn't one there at all. You can do it! It's really not that hard!

Thankls Cyber! It was for FF but I've now installed  and I've managed to sort of get a small understanding of nifskope so I'll probably redoing my avatar.

Thanks Unko! I'm actually re-downloading alot of FF meshes and found a more suitable female_basic based one which I'll be using for RSH. I do love using the irrational meshes but this has the right musculature.

Prince Charming. I need to work out his backstory, and redo the mask and possibly the jacket. It came out more gold heavy than I wanted, but then I don't know if it's actually quite suited to him. He's supposed to be ridiculously pompous and entitled so I think he'd prefer it to be blinged up.

Nice preview on Prince Charming himself Artemis , I really do like the costume that he is wearing along with the mask he is wearing on his face along with the design of the costume plus the mask and above all it seems to me that the skin was used on an El Diablo mesh from Irrational which goes pretty well with it for that skin of Prince Charming himself. I also do like the belt buckle on Prince Charming's belt, it really looks like a 24 karat gold unicorn on the belt buckle itself and above all it really goes well with the whole costume itself. I agree with you 100% about Prince Charming being blinged up a bit Artemis , and furthermore I also agree that his backstory along with his mask and jacket may need a little more work along with a little more tweaking if you know what I mean. Great job though by the way Artemis, and I do hope that you keep up the good work along with releasing some of your latest creations such as the one known as Prince Charming himself in the preview pic soon enough plus whoever the teammates are for Prince Charming himself Artemis I do hope that you will give us a preview of them soon enough when you get the time to design them real soon .

I'm finally releasing my baseskin. It's not ABSOLUTELY perfect but I'm proud of it. I've done 3 versions with varying degrees of musculature.

Those are very nice Artemis, I like a lot the face work in the base skins, especially the eyes. Prince Charming looks great too, I'm impressed with the detail of the clothes.

I agree with Amazo Version 2.2 on this one Artemis , your baseskin design in the form of three version are very good yet intricately designed. So far they look pretty good for progress along with an attempt so far Artemis. The musculature for all three of the baseskin designs are perfectly well planned and carefully designed as well Artemis, and above all the three hair colors with the female longhair hairstyle from the female longhair mesh look so cool. As for your website announcement that you may have a webpage in the near future or future, I do hope you have one soon enough and I do hope that you will have your many creations there along with your Yahoo Group soon enough Artemis. Great job so far on your progress along with your creations Artemis, and I do hope that you will keep up the good work one way or another despite the setbacks that you experience.

Another fine job, and another fine baseskin based upon the bacchite mesh aka the sylph mesh Artemis . I really like it a lot , and above all I did just get your update that your preview of the baseskin itself that is currently on the mesh itself and above all I like the way it looks along with the hairstyle as well . Keep up the good work Artemis, and I do hope that you bring us more previews of your latest creations for the fans of including me as well .

The brow section and eyes are the only bits I've really started to work into, the scale texture really overpowered the base and I think i needto lower the opacity some. Even if it's just at specific muscle groups.
Also, I still haven't finished the skope, in idle stance the horns lie at the brow/temple area, but they move slightly during other animations I think i may need to attatch them to a different node to keep them in one place.
And if anyone knows of any meshes which have feet similar to these please let me know :

You'd need to skope on an extra toe in the middle, but Nightcrawler feet come pretty close to the Gargoyle feet.

Creating your own base skin must have been a really daunting task, and any skinner/artist who is able to create their own definitely deserves recognition. Even if I was still skinning, I don't think that creating my own base skin would be a level that I could ever reach.

In regards to your character with the scales, I would definitely agree with you that the base needs to stand out a little more, I think currently, it just loses something, I can't really explain, but hopefully you can understand what I'm getting at.

Overall Artemis, your FF work is fantastic, and I hope to see some of your work from your thread in the Art Forum translated into FF.

Well, I've always been impressed with people who are able to make creative designs using the somewhat limited design options of Irrational meshes. So I think you're very creative to be able to do this.

Congratulations on being able to make your own base too.  The details are pretty good in my opinion and I hope to make use of it someday.  I like looking at the unique styles different skinners show when creating their own bases.

Hey Artemis, during my travels across the net, I found a mesh by Grenadier called "Galactus_Punisher_Gren" which you might be interested in. Unfortunately, I don't remember which of his Yahoo Groups I found it in. But if you want to PM me an E-Mail address, I can send it your way, not a problem. In regards to the female Gargoyles, check out ZeroMaster's/WingZero's Yahoo Groups, there are 6 - 7 of them, but I think you would find some interesting stuff there.
