Getting FF1 Mods to Work on Steam

Hello there. :) I've been trying to get back into Freedom Force, and bought both games on Steam as a $8 pack, but I've run into a snag. At first, the game&mods for the first game technically worked, but all Minute Man could do on the first mission was run around in circles and occasionally clobber things. After that, I tried moving it into a different directory, but the game didn't work at all now. Finally, I managed to reinstall the game altogether into a different directory; now, the game itself doesn't have any problems, but it'll only start up when I use the Steam app. Now, this is an issue because, now, I can't play any additional mod-campaigns. If you start Freedom Force by itself without using the Steam app, it doesn't work, and by extension, neither do mods. What this means is that if I ever want to play The Strangers, Customforce X, the Great Hunt or any other FF1 campaigns, I may not be able to. Does anyone know if there's a way to get around this, or is the original campaign all I've got?

I had the run around problem on a newer computer. I've heard of a couple of thing that might cause it.

One was an altered executable, like the nocd hack that came out awhile back. Someone I knew went back to the original exe and put the cd back in the drive had the problem go away. Since the steam version uses an altered exe maybe this has something to do with your problem

In my case, for some reason it was caused by the fact that I had changed the camera angle to be able to go down to a street level view. Changing the numbers back closer to the original view fixed things up.
