The vanishing right foot.

I made (geometry) some parts for a mesh then skoped them back and forth to another. One of the parts is a slipper attached to the Right Foot node. Since I attached it there is now a flicker issue with the right foot whereas the foot vanishes in and out no matter the selected skin, both in CTool and game. This piece is a copy of one I have on the left which works fine. As well I have other foot parts that don't cause the issue. I checked and rechecked every thing and made sure it was in order, including the Alpha settings but no dice. Not even an attempt to make a new slipper and Import it works. Has anyone run into this and do they have any advice? Thanks in advance for any time taken to read and respond.

Does the part have an AlphaProperty attached to it? I ask because those little buggers tend to cause sudden bouts of vanishing, especially when it comes to mesh pieces.

SickAlice

Yeah, it does. All my parts on any mesh usually do but that usually points out to me right where the issue is as well.
As it stands my option is to make a new base mesh then move everything piece by piece and check each time.
I wouldn't even have posted if this wasn't as a big a project as it is.

Hmm, this is just a long shot, but I wonder if the AlphaProperty's flags might have a hand on this.

Try firing up Nifskope, then [Highlight Vanishing Mesh Piece > Alpha > Flags] and then modify these stats [try either the slipper or the body, but do this on the mesh piece first]:

- Enable Blending [untick]
- Enable Testing [tick]
- Alpha Test Function [Greater; you may need to change this option around a bit]
- No Sorter [tick]

I had a similar problem with a Bat-Piece I was supposed to be releasing this January [caused some major schedule slips], so maybe this might help!

If it falls through, I'd be willing to take a look at it and test it out myself. Good luck!

If you haven't, I would suggest trying to go into blender and actually join the part to the main mesh and then export. That will make it part of the main mesh and should have the same properties as it.
