I needed some Rob Liefeld characters in the collection so I decided to give Battlestone a try. I've already finished a skope that will provide me with all of Battlestone's costumes threw the years. Skin of course is just a base right now.

Here is an almost finished costume from Brigade miniseries. I had a hard time trying to decide how I wanted his skin tone to look, since Battlestone is a dead guy. Let me know what you y'all think. I also tried to copy the color scheme of the miniseries where his armor would go look silver but shine gold so I just made the reflection gold and the base skin silver. I think it looks pretty cool in motion.

Helix

That can't be a Liefeld character; it has FEET! Bwahaha!

Anyway...that's a really nice looking skope/skin! I dig the shoulder pad reflection!

Bloodshadow

I think the skin tone is a good "deadish" and sweet job on the face Electro

LoL, and let's not forget to use terms like EXTREME and NuFF Said!!! Speaking of EXTREME, I made an alt version of his mini series costume with his raging red eyes and threw on a leg pouch for even more EXTREME paraphernalia. I just started working on his regular series costume. Thanks for the comments guys.

Cool, after researching "Hawk's Shadow" for AnarchistsXe, and "Stryker" for Daglob, I'm finding myself on a bit of an Image kick right now. Nice job on the "Battlestone" Skope, I like how the shoulder pads turned out, they look like they must have been difficult to do, so definitely props for making them look so good. As for the first Skin, a very nice start, for the Gold reflection, have you tried using a Gold "Lightmap" instead of a Gold "Refl" file? I'd be curious as to how that would work. The Red and Blue costume looks great as well. Anyway, nice job on both the Skope and Skins, and I look forward to seeing the finished results.

SIDENOTE: I'm actually a bit interested in how you did the Skope for the Red and Blue version. Did you Alpha out the front part of the belt on the Skin, or did you do that via NifSkope? Also, have you thought about switching out the Guns for more "Extreme" ones? It might be more true to the Character.

I did it with NifSkope. Look again at the first picture showing all the skoped parts. I used the method of erasing vertexs on mesh pieces to achieve a few things, like the belt which was originally Gren's Captain America belt and I got the tube geometry from Tommy Boy. The most time consuming was adding the hair braids because I took them from Beyonder's Shatterstar mesh and they where unfortunately connected to the base mesh itself so I had to add the whole base and then erase about a thousand vertexs, but at least I got the braids  The shoulder pad's where originally from Fusion's Tri-Klop's mesh with hoop geometry from Tommy Boy, vertex's erased where un-needed. The mesh everything sits on is Checkmate_Knightv1_USSR_Gren. As for the skins, I'm using Afghan Ant's method of alphaing out unneeded costume piece textures so every costume is on the same mesh. As for a more EXTREME gun you are right. I was looking at Randomday's weapon pack's but i'm not really seeing a Rob Liefeld looking sci-fi gun. Got any suggestions?

Really great skin and skope, Electro!

Are you doing the rest of Brigade?

ELECTR0

I would like to but it's all based on how badly I want a team member of Brigade in my game. I have unfortunatly reached my hero file threshold of what my comp can handle, even though I have a really kick-a$$ Alienware comp. So if I add a new character to my game, in turn, a character must be deleted from the character roster, which is heart breaking. :( Battlestone does need some team members though.

I hear ya. It'd be cool to have Brigade around. I'm certain they haven't all been done. I only remember the team from the original miniseries, though. Stasis, Heatwave, Coldsnap, Seahawk. I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

BentonGrey

That's really nice work on a character I know nothing about. :)  I wonder if a Leifeild character deserves such a nice skin.  I particularly like the red and blue version.  Great work!

Ouch...Forgot about him, but yeah, pretty much all of Liefield's X-Force Characters were cloned in Image Comic Books.

How many hero files is that?

At around 1200 files I would sometimes get a message saying out of main memory. So I dropped it down to 1000 to be a good bit under the threshold. I'm holding firm to that number, and with that being said, it's time for an EXTREME killing of someone on the roster to make room for Mr. Stone. Skin and skope : Bold_Urban_Commandos_tvliteb by Kssaints

Excuse for fictional backdrop story : In the new Secrect Wars 15. The Beyonder is back and looking to cause trouble. He again sets up a battle world mixed with different planet's and element's, but this time he mix's universes together, so Heroes, Vigilantes and Villains from Image, DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, etc... Universes have converged on this new battle world. The Beyonder tell's each new character that is ported onto Battle-World "The only way to leave Battle world is to gain favor with a game creator named Electro. Electro does not know it yet, but he is secretly in charge of your reality which now lives in his game. I will amuse myself as I watch your lives hang in his hands. The only way to Survive the epic struggle and return home to your normal lives is to be immortalized in Electro's roster of 1000 characters in his game. The only way to do that is to impress him by your Excelsior performance in combat, visual presentation of your look and animations in his game by your Freedom Reborn community creator, and overall Radness in past key situations in your lives, which human's like Electro view into your real world threw a device called comic books. If you get deleted from his game then you are sent back to your real world dead Good Luck and i'll be watching. Ha hA HAaa...." The Beyonder slowly fades away from the startled newest combatant to Electro's Battle-World. Now forced to fight at any given moment for there existence.

Fictional Story of Secret Wars 15 : Issue #1: Hector found his team mates Lamar and Jerome. Now feeling a bit more reassured about surviving on Battle-World. While searching around for a good place to set up camp form a plan they, run into Marvel Universes Villain The Controller. The Trio of Vigilante's notice him right away as a threat. They decide to strike in a blitzkrieg and they do some decent damage but The Controller is pretty strong/tough and soon knocks Jerome Out. next The controller takes control of Hector's mind and tells hector to beat the crud out of lamar, which he does with the help of the controller. The Controller then takes The Bold Urban Commando's as his personal minion's. A week passes and suddenly The controller spots a strange character. The character is a rebel zombie named Battlestone from the Image universe. The controller tries to grab for his control device in a manner that startles Battlestone and he goes into his melee fighting stance ready for anything. The Controller twists some toggles of the device he's now holding, suddenly the Bold Urban Commando minions now rush into battle with Mr. Stone. Seeing that the combatants are dressed in star spangled tight's gives battlestone some pause, and decides to try to knock them out rather than kill'em until he can interrogate them. The battle is intense with 4 on 1 and suddenly Battlestone notices The Controller retreating about 30 yards away picking back up the same device again. The controller twists some knobs again and Battlestone notices that his mind feels like it's being tampered with. He figures the device is some kind of illusion or mind control device and now understands that these Star Spangled Attackers are under The Controller's command. Battlestone can feel the The Controller getting close to finding his minds frequency, but can't get loose from all 3 Bold Urban Commando's to attack The Controller, while softening his attacks to try and not hurt the mind controlled Vigilantes. Feeling the pressure of the situation Battlestone's eye's begin to glow from the Nu-Gen flowing threw his body and he unsheathes his pistol and fires at hector killing him. Battlestone then aims at The Controller also trying for a kill shot, but the Nu-Gene rage roaring in his veins intensifies his melee attacks for a short period of time but make his marksmanship and bit unsteady. The fired bullet hit's but it merely grazes the edge of The Controller's helmet. The Controller again quickly sics the remaining Urban Commando's on Battlestone and flee's from the scene. Battlestone enraged beats the snot out of the Commando's. When the Controller is clear from the scene he sends a signal to his Commando Minions to retreat from battle before they become knocked out by Battlestone. After the Commando's flee Battlestone finds a place for refuge for the night and wonders if any of his teammates made it onto Battle-World.

I thought I had already posted this, but I'm guessing I didn't hit "Post", frustrating, that seems to be happening a lot.

I'm looking at you Skope, and I have to say that I am really impressed. Those braids must have been a serious pain to get done. Also, looking at the version in the Black costume, I'm looking at the left hand, and am wondering what pieces you used for it.

Firstly, those look really, really nice -- it's always a good thing when older characters get done! As I always say, every character has a fan, somewhere!

I won't lie, though: For the longest time, I really held a grudge against the Extreme folks, because they so clearly viewed their early work as a cash grab -- people so wanted The Next Big Thing and an alternative to the Big Two, some really bad comics were produced.

But time has passed, and as always, any character can be great under the hands of a creator who cares. I liked how you came up with backstories for them; if/when you release Battlestone, I'll definitely download him and do the same!

ELECTR0

@Afghan Ant Thanks!

@Cyberburn I pieced it together with Copperhead_Tvlite armband and then just reused the same tube geometry that I placed on the belt, but made it larger and of course changed the texture names. I really like the shoulder pads from the front view, but am having a problem with the back view after trying to erase the vertex's off of the back of the pads. There are no clean breaks in the lines for the left side so I again might be on the hunt for better set of shoulder pads. I also looked at the Agent Coulson gun but it's to large. It would be killer for a BloodWulf character though. Battlestone is basically Luke Cage power and combat wise, but will occasionally pull out a pistol and carries a metal retractable staff.

@Elijahsnowfan I really don't see it that way. Those few men at Image had to come up with a whole universe quickly to compete with the big two and get up enough cash to hire a whole bunch of unknown talent to help them. So them pumping out mediocre comics with 10 alternative covers or foil cover editions etc... the first few years really doesn't bother me. In the long run it all worked out good for comic fans and the industry. Some of those early comics had some good new or revised stories in there as well. Take for instance the comic Supreme. Here we get to see an EXTREME version of Superman. Who beats down baddies without holding back and feels good about it. He even beats the snot out of Thor and decides that Mjolnir is his weapon now. Sure the writing and production should have been a little more thought out like Marvel and DC comics, but if it where up to them at the time a comic like Supreme would have been unthinkable.
