Costume Rating 28: Spider-Carnage

Next in our Symbiote Series is Spider-Carnage:


Spider-Carnage was Ben Reilly when he was Spider-Man taken by the Carnage symbiote. Just a one shot story but it was notable for appearing on Fox's Spider-Man cartoon.

If you had to have a Spider-Man/Carnage combo then it's worked pretty well.. least it was visually interesting.. in that '90s way. Least we now know what a classic costume (okay, it was Ben's version of the classic suit) version of a symbiote looks like.

While not the best design, it's clearly not the worst design in regards to the Symbiotes. It's recognizably a Spider-Man variant that is possessed, which unfortunately has been done with the real Spider-Man, and was done better.

I had to go with a 3 for the overall design, it's not bad, but could be a little better.

3- It's ok. Nothing amazing, but it's ok. Very 90s, but not in the Liefeld pouches everywhere kind of way.

Gave it a 3. Not bad but nothing super exciting. It works for what it is.

I gave Spider-Carnage a 5! I actually really like this design. The Ben Reilly costume has always been pretty cool (we'll get to that one day) and this merges it with the head of Carnage which I also like. The little red vines and the claws all work for me. It gets the Pod seal of approval.

2:  I'm pretty much the exact opposite from you on this one, Pod.  The design just doesn't work for me, and the elements you enumerated are the reasons why.   Yeah, this one just doesn't really coalesce in my opinion.  It's just disparate, mismatched pieces.
