There is a transforming Beast Boy mesh.

http://freedomforceuniverse.com/dc-universe.html

Search "Beast Boy"
Found that while looking for a Beast Boy mesh. Downloaded it, but (as it seems to be the trend with me) I am having problems. When I open the .nif in character tool it gives me these two messages:

Unable To Open Character File
alert: CDataLoader::loadNIF, Unable to locate fallback NIF thing

I've had this problem before, but I fixed it just be re downloading the nif (since it seems to be corrupted) but that didn't fix it this time.

Any help?

It sounds like you have to convert it.

Use the EZNifConverter located here: http://www.alexff.com/goodies.php

That should fix your problems. ^_^

The description of the nif converter says:
QuoteIt allows you to easily convert a mesh from FF format to FFv3R format

But I'm trying to use Beast Boy in FF, not FFvs3R? Will it still help? (I'll probably give it a shot anyway, just letting you know)

Also, another noob statement here, I have absolutely NO idea how to download a mesh for  :ffvstr:. Just  :ff:.

This would be along the same lines as what I was talking about with the EZNifConvert.  Any mesh that you download, if it doesn't work when you try and use it in FFvtTR, then you'll just need to run the mesh through the converter.  More often than not, the converter will work.

As for the Beastboy issue, I'm not too sure to help you there.  I really only work with FFvtTR.  Sorry :(

I receive a different error message, but the problem is the same. I double checked with my original download of this mesh/skope and after confirming in Nifskope, it appears that this mesh is for  :ffvstr:. So, unfortunately, it can't be used for  :ff:

In a nutshell, the two games use different versions of nif files for their meshes. A great number of FF1 meshes will still work in FFVTTR. Those that don't prompted the creation of conversion tools to enable them to be used in FFVTTR.

Unfortunately, if a mesh is created exclusively for FFVTTR, we currently don't have a way to "retro convert" it back to FF1.

I have a "Beast_Boy" Mesh that works with the original CTool, I haven't tried it in-game, but I would assume that if it works in CTool, that it should work in-game.

If anyone wants it, PM me an E-Mail address, and I'll be glad to send it out.

Cyber Burn

Ouflah, you have mail.  :D

Spyder and Hoss, I sent it your way as well, just in case.

Thanks, Cyber!

Thanks, Cyber, but it wasn't necessary. I use FFVTTR exclusively, but I recently downloaded the original Character Tool and got it working so that I can be more effective in helping Alex out with conversions to FFVTTR and so that I can now skope for the original game, if I feel like it, and double check animations and stuff. Thanks, though.

Awesome! It works! (although in character tool his arms and legs aren't connected, which is weird. Still, it doesn't do anything weird in the game!)

This is actually quite common for Meshes in FF1's CTool. They appear distorted, but work fine in game. Kind of annoying for Skoping purposes, which is why I went FFvt3R exclusive.

Yeah I have no idea how to download meshes for  :ffvstr:. Only skins.

So..... how does one do that, praytell?

Basically, as Spyder stated before, when you download and install a Mesh into your FFvt3R directory, if it doesn't work, then it probably needs to be converted using the "EZ Nif Convert" at Alex's Freedom Fortress (http://www.alexff.com/goodies.php).

I think the majority of actual "Meshes" that are available are for FF1, but many will work in FFvt3R as they are, and some will need to be converted.

I think the majority of Skopes that you will find, will probably be for FFvt3R, but again, try them out first to see if they work, if they don't, then use the converter.

Also, check the "Read_Me" file that comes with the Mesh or Skope, sometimes it will tell you which game it is meant for.
