Because I am.

You always wonder if it's just you...

I have been having some issues too. Was worried if my interwebz was glitchy or if it was site/server issues.

Especially a "no file input specified" error of some kind now and then.

I keep getting a 404 error, but if I refresh often enough, it goes ahead and loads the page.

Yeah, I've been seeing some issues.

If the site refuses to load after a refresh or two, I just close my browser and try again.  It almost always works the second time, around.

Ditto. Last week my ip got banned 24 hours for attacking the site. I was like "Whaaaaat? I did no such thing! I'm just trying to post about comics!"

I've been having the same issue as you, CQ. Just going back one page and trying again fixes the problem.

WyldFyre

Same as CQ here too. Not as much lately but a lot back during the summer.

I've had that happen before, but very, very rarely.

That was happening to me a lot. Rebooting my router helps.

I've been getting the 404 Error as well, though usually if I go back a page and try again I can get it to work. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries though. Glad to know it's not just me.

Yes. I keep getting a "No input file specified" error.

Yes. I keep getting a "No input file specified" error.

+1.

But I'm new, so I'm not complaining.  Just trying to make probably my only possible contribution to the site: feedback for IT troubleshooting.
Fwiw, it's not content or time specific.  Totally random.

I just started seeing this, too. At first I thought it was cookie-related, since it was happening on Firefox but not IE (where I am not logged in) and clearing the cookies on Firefox seemed to fix it. But, either that cure was random or it's only part of the problem because it was back again soon. I will look into it.

My error reads out " No input file specified." and happens randomly. Just a guess but many sites aren't working fully on Firefox currently due to Mozilla blocking various scripts and plug-in's they deemed hazardous outright. *nvmd, also occurs in Opera.

And Chrome too, so it's not the browsers.

Just updated the forum software from SMF version 2.0.8 to version 2.0.9, which was released a few days ago. Fingers crossed that it is helpful.

I haven't had any trouble until today, where a lot of pages come up as "No input file specified. "  Sometimes they reappear if I refresh, and sometimes I have to switch browsers.  Not sure if this is a cache issue (doubt it since I have cache disabled) or what.

I am doubting this is a browser cache issue. There is a possibility that there is a problem with the forum software's cache, but I did clear that last night when I made a backup of the software files before updating.

I have googled around a bit, but while this error shows up, it doesn't seem to have the same symptoms that ours does. We are seeing an intermittent problem that doesn't happen on every page load and goes away after a page refresh or two. And, most of the suspected issues I have been reading in the search results refer to problems in forums mods that we don't have installed, potentially problematic SMF options that we already have configured to the non-problematic setting, or .htaccess file configurations that don't apply.

I have, however, found that there are files the server is trying to get to that are not in our themes where it is looking. The odd thing is that, by checking earlier backups, I am pretty sure that those files have never been there or at least have not been there in a long time, but this problem seems recent.

Anyway, still looking at it.

Still having trouble.

We wait patiently for Stumpy to whip the servers into submission.

I think I found the problem and I just made another couple changes. But, I can't be sure I found everything in the code that might be looking for nonexistent files, so more hunting may be needed. If anyone sees the error again, please do a full page refresh (Crtl-Shft-R for most browsers) on any page that causes the error and let me know if it persists after that. (Any page not refreshed in the browser cache may still be trying to grab an old CSS file.) Also, please mention which browser is having trouble. It turns out that there are some browser-specific issues that may be in play, but I am only set up to do testing with a couple of them.

I've had the "No input file specified" error a few times since your post, but Ctrl-Shft-R reloads the page just fine.

The actual refresh button didn't work too well, though :P

I also had the "No input file specified" issue.  Usually I could get to the index page and it would poop out if I tried to look at a particular topic, but occasionally it would do it from the splash page.  I never tried more than 2-3 times to work around it, so no idea if I could have.

I'm having a problem where I'll say something hilarious and/or brilliant and it seems like no one is able to read it. My post displays fine on my screen, but all the subsequent posts just continue the discussion without any replies to my amazing comments. Do you think it might be an issue with my firewall?
I apologize in advance for everything I say on here. I regret it immediately after clicking post.

Probably an issue with other people's firewalls.  :P

The issue is clear here thanks. Noting the display " looks right " again now in Firefox. Normally this and most don't display correctly in Mozilla due to me using an adblocker, whereas I can see stubs where ads should be. When the bug was present those stubs weren't showing up. Now they are. Not sure if that tidbit helps with knowing anything in the coding or not (I use too much prefab stuff myself and rarely code because I'm a lazy sack of pancake batter, lol).
