Hi there. I've been trying to install PFX into  :ffvstr:, but I've had some problems with getting it working right. Actually, it works just fine when I'm just using a non-FFX version of the game, but whenever I use FFX, the PFX FX are nowhere to be seen. I tried installing PFX rightinto FFX, but that didn't work. I've also got EXFX6.0 installed, if that has something to do with it. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Because I'm clueless here.

Which version of FFX are you using? I believe that PFX should be the last thing you install (Sorry, it's been a while). Also, make sure to back up your DAT Files before making any changes.

Sorry for the double post, but did you install it into the FFX Directory or just the regular FFvt3R Directory?

It has been a while for me also, but PFX has its own executable file, right? I looked in my FFX directory and have PFX fx.dat and PFX sounds.dat files. I just can't recall if these were installed on their own or in the personalization of my own game, if I just renamed them. Either way, it sounds like you may need to merge your DAT files, as FFX isn't seeing the FX. Because I don't remember the install process, I would just back up your DAT files, then merge the FX and Sound DATs from a working, non-FFX version with the FX and Sound DATs in your FFX directory. I have PFX 1.2 and on the initial install steps it does mention that the PFX FX and Sound DAT files will overwrite the DAT files in the directory you are installing it, so I'm not sure why the PFX aren't showing up.

Also, when you say the FX "are nowhere to be seen," do you mean they are not showing up in the list to be selected or when you click to select them, they aren't showing? My suggestion above should help the first problem, but the second problem would be due to the art files not being in the correct directory (at least as far as FFEdit is concerned).

When I was helping Alex with the EZFX, I had installed PFX to a separate Directory in my Documents Folder. Both the FX and Sound Dat Files are named "FX" and "Sounds", so they should overwrite your existing Files.

Good news; after trying to merge the FFX and regular FFsv3rdR files again, PFX now works in FFX! Thanks for everyone who tried to help though, really.
