I am still hoping for some better info on how well games like FF and FFvT3R work under Windows 10 before I leave Windows 7 on my main PC. (Not to mention NWN, etc.) I saw a "report" that was largely a reprint of a Microsoft promotional release talking about how great W10 is for games. Unfortunately, it was a little heavy on things I have little interest in doing, like streaming video from an Xbox One to my PC, or that have zero impact on any game I currently play, like an upgrade to DirectX 12. The report was light on compatibility features or support for older games. Basically, if I can't play the games I enjoy, then Windows 10 won't be on my PC anytime soon.

I already know that Windows 10 doesn't have Windows Media Center, which means W7 will stay on our media PC until an adequate replacement is found.

Since you are running W10 already, Thalaw (or anyone who has switched to Windows 10, particularly from Windows 7), I am curious what you like about it? Is there much that would tempt someone like me, who 1) is not running a touch screen device, 2) doesn't care about "apps" for a PC and definitely doesn't want larger interface objects taking up screen space or forcing me to split my desktop into multiple pages, 3) saw no value at all in the Metro interface, 4) is running a pretty fast PC, so a 4% improvement in file indexing or similar improvement will never be noticed, and 5) doesn't like having to go to a "app store" for every freeware/shareware utility program I want so that MS (or Apple or Google) can track my software downloads.

To be honest, Stumpy I don't notice any differences worthy of note except that I'm having a hard time finding some of the things I took for granted in W7.  I never upgraded to W8, but my wife has it on her laptop.  I only upgraded to W10 because it was free.  As for games I've noticed that the new Nvida drivers allow me to run Fallout New Vegas at the highest setting and still with fast frame rates.  I hope the same will be true for GTA V. 

My only real gripe is that it seems my VPN software isn't compatible with the new OS.  In short, if you're happy with W7 then stay with it.  There isn't much new in W10 yet.

I have Windows 10 installed on my laptop and to me it's nothing but a pretty version of Windows 8.1.  I do like the Cortana feature, but you need a good mic to talk to her.

It figures.  Even to talk to a computerized woman a man has to have good mic skills.   I haven't tried to talk to Cortana yet, but I'm sure it's got to be better than Siri.
