how would I make a new fx using this tga?  the name of the tga is linked to minuteman's rally. So, I want a new fx linked to that tga. copying the core and start still links it to the stars and stripes. Also, different sound fx, but I think I can figure that part out.

Cyber Burn

This has actually been on my list of things to do, since I've wanted a Rally for both "Captain Britain", and "Union Jack". I may update the TGA Files, and make a FFvt3R version as well. What did you have in mind for the Sounds?

Someplace there is a "For The Queen" or "For Queen and Country" FX.

Bearded, in my FX textures folder, the star_banner art file (if you kept the same name) is a dds file. The star_banner file created by Gryphon is a tga. If there are two files with the same name, one a dds and one a tga file, FFVTTR will default to using the dds file. Because they are two different file types, the new star_banner file did not replace the old one, if you attempted to follow Gryphon's instructions in his text file. If you still want to keep both art files, you may want to rename the British art file and then go into the FX nifs and assign the renamed texture to the mesh. I guess, the easy way would just be to delete the original star_banner.dds file or at least move it out of the textures folder.

Of course, this whole observation is based on the assumption that you are using FFVTTR.

What is the "for the queen" fx?

I have renamed it union_jack.tga, but I don't know how to attach it to the fx using ffedit.

I'm sorry I forgot to mention how to do that part. Unfortunately, attaching an art file to an FX can't be done in FFEdit. You can assign a mesh or nif file to an FX, but not the art files. That has to be done within the nif itself. I've done it with NifSkope. You have to change the NiSourceTexture under the NiTexturingProperty for the mesh piece you want. I'm sorry that I don't recall your NifSkope proficiency, but I would be happy to do it for you. It won't take any time at all. Feel free to PM your email or I can put it in the folder in my Yahoo group that I had made for putting files for one of your projects a while back.
