Hey everyone!

Just grabbed FF on the Steam sale and am playing with my kids. Having a great time. I remembered that when it came out, my friends and I had a blast modding it, so naturally I started digging through the tools.

I've never messed with NifSkope or meshes though, mostly did a bunch of texture work. Now I have the skills to do a bunch of that stuff, so I want to tweak the meshes, or even do simpler stuff like add reflection and glow to some of the basic custom models. I'm working on a design based on the basic male_cape right now, but when I open a .nif, I'm just getting the skeleton and the cape - no body.

What am I missing? I feel like this should be way more obvious than I'm making it.

Since I posted this in the "Skins" section, I guess my question ultimately is: I'm pretty sure I need to use NifSkope to edit the .nif so it has reflection, lightmap, and glow associated with it, but I'm not sure where to start. Where do I start?

Is this for the original FF, or is this for FFVT3R?

...for instance. I'm sure there are others, I just can't find them right now.

Thank you! I don't seem to have everything I need for these steps.

Quote1-you need to insert a block>nisourcetexture

That's fine.

Quote2-once you do that you go to the nitrishape>nitexuring's properties and select yes for both has_glow/has_gloss

Is this another block I need to add, or should it already be there somewhere?

For reference, this is what I get when I open the character.nif file:

You could also download the Male Cape Effects Mesh from here. This may save you some time.
