Where are the built-in SFX located?

Absolute Noob Question Time!!!

What do you mean when you say "SFX"? And how does that differ from regular "FX"?

Panther_Gunn

You should be able to find the path on the appropriate tab in FFEdit.  Just look at the details for one of the built-in powers.

I've never looked for them before.

Hmmm... FFEdit doesn't work, nor does FFXEdit. May be part of the whole problem that keeps FF1 from working.

Panther_Gunn

Are you looking for the art portions?  An FX install readme lists them as going here:  Data\Art\library\fx\_textures

I'm assuming there's a "zip" that has all of the built-in textures.

If no one else can answer before I can fire up my FF computer I'll look deeper.

I can look for a large-ish file and see what I can find. If I come up empty, I'll be back.

I couldn't find a file that looked suspicious. I tried looking in FFv3R to get an idea of what the file layout might be like, but, since I lost the hard drive, the FFv3R editors are not set up right.

What is the secondary data path supposed to be for FFEdit2?

Cyber Burn

I don't have FF1 on my Laptop, but for FFvt3R, if you've either extracted the FX Files, or added custom ones, then the File Path should be as follows:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Irrational Games\Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich\Data\Art\library\fx   (Mind you, this is for the Disk Version)

If you're looking for the File that they are all packed in, then the File Path should be as follows:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Irrational Games\Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich\Data

In this case you want to find the "Art.ff" File, make a copy, and rename it to "Art.zip". This should allow you to open it up and find the FX Files.

Y'know, that's embarrassing. I extracted all the heroes out of that file years ago, and didn't remember that the FX were in there too.

Thank you all for the help.
