FX Too Quiet

Howdy folks, I've got an issue with some FX sounds I added to the Pulp Adventures mod.  I used sound clips from various places for area attacks for Doc Savage, The Shadow, and Tarzan, but they are all super quiet in game, and I'm not quite sure what to do about it.  The files themselves seem plenty loud enough, but when played by the game, they are so quiet they're drowned out by everything.  Anyone know how to address this?

From what I just noticed adding the bridge sound on the Enterprise map, it was very low at first as well.

If you look at the sound tab on FFEdit under "parameters" at the bottom, there's one on the right for volume. Not sure why there's two entries, but try raising the numbers in the boxes and I think that should fix your problem.

It's been a while since I've looked at FFEdit, but I think RD is in the right spot.  You can also compare what you've got your new sound files set at for volume compared to sounds that came with the game.  I also feel like there was a sound preview Play button on that tab somewhere.  I don't know if the volume parameter is checked when playing them there though, but it's another way to compare them to the built-ins.

There is a sound preview. You can play a sound once or looped over and over again.

Thanks for the responses, guys!  I found that volume parameter, but it doesn't seem to have much effect.  The files were initially set at 1.0000, and I incrementally pumped them all the way up to 500 without appreciable difference.  The "Priority" slider at the top had some impact (left is full priority, I think), but they're still quiet.

The sound preview has never worked for me.  I just assumed it was a broken feature.

I think it only works with sound files that are on the computer, so most people would only hear any custom sounds for new FX.  If you unzip the sound .dat, you should be able to hear all of them.  At least, that's my recollection.

about to say the same thing

never worked for me for the in-game sounds, but worked for the sound I added to the sounds folder. I thought it was because I never extracted the game sounds from the ff file.

On the sounds, how far away you are might matter. I think the various other parameters like "fade", "falloff" and the rest might be effecting things.
