Sometime in the last 20 or so years (jeeze, maybe more) there was a TV show that for some reason I think may have been on ABC or FOX, there was a TV show with the premise that comic strip/fictional characters were real, and lived in a cartoon universe (like in Cool World). I never saw a whole episode, or may pieces of any episode, but it seems that a Bogart-like detective and a super-powered defender of justice had to enter the "real world". I don't think the series lasted long.

Does anyone remember the name of the series? Seems like both the detective and the super-type would be at home at Character Obscura.

I've got a TV Shazam from somewhere. I had started one on a TV mesh, but quit when I found this one. I don't think there has ever been a TV Billy Batson.

I tried Googling something on the TV show, but I got too may hits, and the ones I checked didn't tell me what I wanted.

The problem might be that the TV show with the hero and detective didn't even last half a season.
