Irrational Games is Back!

They've got their name back, a shiny new website and forum with a section for FF and FFvTTR and various other goodies. Interestingly enough, it turns out that they have absolutely nothing to do with Bioshock 2, which I find inexcusable.

Great for them!

I suspect that they may get sold by Take-Two (who is having financial issues) ? the "2K Boston/2K Australia" name was a less known brand and was too tied up with the current publisher.

As for Bioshock 2, it's being developed by 2K Marin, which includes a few former IG employees.

2K Australia is still a separate entity, and Ken says that they have nothing to do with each other anymore. In that sense, the old Irrational is not quite back.

Probably wont affect me but I'm still really happy for them, especially now that publishing through Steam can make a differece for small games. I mean not having a good way to publish

really screwed 'em over, but now they could do it again if they wanted to through steam and make a good profit.

This means nothing as far as patches go. Irrational was just renamed before and could have made a patch just as easily. They are still owned by 2K games. We aren't going to see any more patches. Sorry.
