OMG that is really great pic there nait

I'm gonna quote our good old friend Cardmaster

SAHWEEEET (i hope I'm quoting it right )

PreRaphaelite

From what I remember of it (having peeked at it before work) I think it's great; you've really captured each character, making it easy to figure out who's who in a very dynamic piece. I'll try and give more detailed feedback (if necessary!) when I get home and have access to Imageshack once more.
Yours sincerely, Judi Dench.

Outcast

I can't really offer expert advise/critique but i think you did a pretty good job Naitvalis. I like it. :)

PreRaphaelite

Thanks Nait, that's very good of you to think about goopy old me.

Considering you used a mouse to colour it, I think you did a pretty good job! It's a bright, light-hearted piece that really works to emphasize the avatars as individuals. Figure Fan, Podmark, Tomato and Unko all have a lot of personality in their faces, and there's a good amount of movement amongst the characters to help lead your eye across the composition. I also appreciate the fact you've gone all-out on drawing hands, which along with feet are some of the most difficult parts of the body to draw.

Unfortunately, I can't let you get away with using trickery to hide most people's feet/lower bodies: Unko, Podmark, C6 and Mikey are especially noticeable in this regard. In Mikey's case, the odd floating head of Captain Spud(?) is a bit of a cheeky addition to the piece - a throwaway character used to hide some feet! Naughty! And FF's bendy body does the same for Podmark, while GG covers a number of body parts. That said, I'm glad you realised some of your linework was a little incomplete - I see how you coloured spaces where no linework existed (but needed to exist), such as FF's elongated neck, so it's good you picked up on that and tried to fix it.

As usual I like the little details here; the bouncing bullets, the folds of the clothing, and the metallic reflections. I just hope one day you'll save up and get yourself a tablet so we can see you at full game - without the patterned backgrounds!  :P

Final note: Captain Spud's head is a tad... effeminate. Is it Spud?
Yours sincerely, Judi Dench.

to Outcast: thank you pal, maybe i can do a draw  with your avatar to in the future if you like ( no one is safe).

to PreRaphaelite: i always really appreciate the time you dedicate to help all the artists wich post in this section, in do better works, with your detailed reviews.
as you have noticed i am an old cheater in draw, but in this one the only " volountary" "cheeky addition" was captain spud, and i explain it: i have drawned figure fan, but i miss is counterpart enemy...realized it later , so asked my self "and now?" then ive heard that sound "SPUD!" and thats it. i know expecially him looks quite cheeky, but i guess the others looks cheeky enough to the right observer.
Now i think my first error was not to draw a believable "ground"in perspective, so we can see all characters floating, and they look like bit copy-pasted, maybe with a believable ground they can look less cheeky.
anyhow i haved great fun in drawing this and i think ,like you, wich at least "really works to emphasize the avatars as individuals".
one another thing: i fear captain spud himself so i hope he not think he look effeminate to in this piece   .

of course after preraphs feedback there is nothing constructive I  can say, bu I love this piece. FR avatars always look good, no matter the medium :D

Oh and you do well to fear the spudmaster, we all do....well maybe except meejub, since he has already died so many many times he does not care if he gets imapled with the RUSTY MEATHOOK  :spudmeathook :spudmeathook :spudmeathook

And that's what matters most - and it really does show! Honestly, it's a great piece, paints the characters in a really positive light, and I'm sure each person featured is honoured to be in it.

(And about Spud - don't worry. I think you caught his better side!)
Yours sincerely, Judi Dench.

I concur! Good gravy, it's nice to be noticed, and always fun/weird to see character's mostly only you draw, drawn by somebody else.
Thumbs up!

Reepicheep

That managed to sneak under my radar. Really awesome drawing. You've really done the characters justice.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVEEEEEE it

thanks nait, this is beyond greatness :D

...haha. That is simply... awesome Nait. Wow. You really nailed the details of our costumes very well there. (Wasn't really sure how my new avatar design looked liked from the side too. So it also gives me some fresh insight/perspective.) Plus I am amazed that you were able to do it so quickly too.

They look like they are playing some form of Freedom Force chess? And judging from their expressions and poses, I'd say Juancho's got me beat and cornered like in a "checkmate".

Thanks Nait! I really like it. So cool.

PreRaphaelite

I think this is quite possibly my favourite picture yet! You've really captured a moment here, with both the cafe setting and the interaction between Juancho and Outcast being spot on. You successfully draw the eye to the centre of the image where all the action is, and there is enough action there to keep the eye interested and moving. Most of all, I'm enjoying the dynamic between the very relaxed battle of brains in the middle of the piece, and the contrasting physical battle in the background.

While I realise the fun 'twist' to the image is that the battle of figurines being duked out by Juancho and Outcast is being reenacted for real outside, for me the interesting bit is that we're given two very different approaches to conflict resolution. In the background we have the traditional 'guns-a-blazing' brawl, while the foreground portrays a simulated battle, waged in the minds of intellectuals rather than through fists and guns. Well, at least it would have been if you'd chosen characters besides Juan and Outcast... intellectuals? What was I thinking...  ;)

The only thing I'd say concerning constructive criticism would be to keep an eye on the scale of the figures in the background in relation to the building behind them. I know some people in the world are too tall to walk through certain doors (I'm definitely not one of them...) but combined with the short lamppost and the small garage door, the building seems a little too mini to be completely believable. Otherwise, excellent job!  :D

Final note: the Minuteman picture in the foreground is a groovy final touch - is it a magazine cover?
Yours sincerely, Judi Dench.

naitvalis

many thx to that Dude with blue skin (the Hitman  :D to whoever wander about smurfette).

to Outcast and Juancho: its nice to see this one like to you, maybe there can be some costume errors, but consider it a redesign  :).
to PreRaphaelite: i think this image was a little to pretentious, but i see all of you can understand wich juan and outcast are like "puppeteers" in this image( i have thinked that miniatures was too little and not enough definited).
i'm happy to read  you have find something fit your tastes (god know you are not a man of simply ones... :P), no really, thx PreRaphaelite i like to have a "possibly favourite" from you, and let me start the day with a smile.

Hehe...Nice drawing of Sabretooth and Wolverine. But who is the guy in armor? Colosubuddha? :o  :P

naitvalis

yup is colossus maybe in another reality where prof. xavier wasn't born, he become a zen monk  :D.

PreRaphaelite

Jeez, after a famine of artwork, we're now being inundated! Too much art, too little time to comment!

Good drawing, Nait. The idea is very 'out there' - I don't think I've ever considered Colossus to be a zen monk, or to have painted Wolverine and Sabertooth clashing steel in the background - but it is very effective nonetheless. There's something very tranquil about it, with Colossus meditating alongside the burning incense in the foreground and the almost dreamlike  'action' behind him.

I'm not too sure about the placement of the floating calligraphy, it comes across a tad bit "thrown in there" to fill the background, but I do like the almost Ukiyo-e qualities of the painting(?) behind Colossus; the flatness, simple line work and cropping work well. Most of all I'm enjoying the easiness of the composition, the attention to hands and feet, and the solid weight of Colossus, enhanced with your use of textures and shading on his body/clothing.  :D
Yours sincerely, Judi Dench.

Cyber Burn

I really enjoyed the evolution of the avatar pic. Very well done.

i have drawned this characters, they are from earth 3, now, can you tell  who are their counterparts? i think its not too difficoult.
(p.s. they are my characters "original", i mean not  dc comic official creations, they just belong to earth 3 dc-verse).
