I bought the season pass and it came with the flashpoint skin of Aquaman. Is this skin closer to what you wanted?

Tomato

*sigh* no, the stupid red and black evil aquaman with a crew cut is NOT the same as say, his new 52 costume. I have already stated in the Ode to Benton thread how I detest the notion of changing his colors to make him seem more evil. Aquaman is one of the very few characters, possibly the only one, to wear orange and green. It makes him stand out visually, and I feel like changing that the red and black was stupid and lazy.

TLDR: I effing hate that costume.

So apparently Wal-Mart messed up somewhere along the way... despite being told that the package had been lost in transit, I just received a second copy of the game with all the Wal-mart bonus additions (including Mortal Kombat vs DC).

I'd take it back, but then I'd have to contend with Wal-mart's customer service department again, and... yeah, I'd rather not go through that if I don't have to. I'm going to offer it to my co-workers first, but if no one there aren't any takers someone here can PM me and I'll send it for $15 plus shipping.

Edit: A couple of people have already asked me about this, but I only have one spare copy to sell... so I'm just going to cut this off before I have to tell more people that someone else already asked first.

deano_ue

so what are you guys playing this on. maybe we need to get an FR rumble going

MJB

Playing on the PS3. I'm rubbish but the game is quite fun.

Tomato

Yeah, I'm also not too good at it. I tried twice to play a ranked game online (to unlock the alt lantern skin) and I just got my arse handed to me both times.

But yeah, finished the story today (waiting for a day off) and I gotta say... I was impressed. Again, I'm not a fighting game person, but the story itself was amazingly crafted, a real love letter to "A Better World" from the JLU cartoon (though obviously with a more complex dynamic given the larger cast of characters). I loved some of the character arcs as well.

Spoiler
While I loved some of the bigger character arcs like Captain Marvel being the first to break ranks with Superman once he starts going nuts and Barry basically following right after, some of the little stories got me as well. I love that Alt. Harley was basically allowed to outgrow the Joker... it felt like a genuine growth for the character, even if it wasn't "our" Harley.

I knew you would like it Mato. Now ladies and gentlemen, I present to you LOBO....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFwC8dV2l1Y&feature=youtu.be

Good thing they blurred out that middle finger while he was burning Batman alive, I was watching this video of two people beating each other to death with my young and impressionable son.
I apologize in advance for everything I say on here. I regret it immediately after clicking post.

BigAl1775

I have been playing Injustice almost every day (my 4 yr old harps on me til I do), and he has been on the iPad to help me unlock stuff for my Xbox. I dare say, the iOS version sometimes is more fun, because of the dedicated block. That is my only beef with the console, no true block. But, I learned a few tricks with Grundy, so now I may get more than 2 wins online   Very fun game, and I think Aquaman's super move is one of the best looking. My favs are Green Arrow, Deathstroke, Grundy (now) and my main man Supes! If you are on the Xbox, friend Double A Ver1 and maybe we can slap each other around  :D

I haven't unlocked BA's regime costume yet, and I haven't seen him in action in the story. I'll reserve judgement on that on until then.

As far as Aquaman goes, what bugs me most is that there really isn't a comic-like version of it to use. I'm a sucker for Arthur's classic orange and green duds, and the costume only barely resembles that one. If there was an alternate that had him in something more classic, I'd be much happier, especially since he's probably my favorite to play

This frustrates me as well, 'Mato.  The ugly half-breed costume that is his main look in the game is neither fish nor fowl, so to speak.  It's not armor, and it's not his classic look.  In fact, I'd have preferred that they went with a more armored look if they weren't going to give him his classic costume.  They actually had some concept art for something that I think would have looked a lot better.  Since DLC is all the rage these days, I rather hope we'll see classic versions of a few costumes eventually.  I have zero interest in any of the New 52 looks for their own sakes, and the Flashpoint skins are about as uninteresting for me, so I'd like for there to be a bit more to which I could look forward.  Heck, a basic reskin of his Flashpoint costume into the proper colors would be nice.

See, I'd be perfectly fine with the new 52 costume for Aquaman... actually, of all the new costumes, Arthur's is by far my favorite. It updates the look just enough to make it look fresh, but not so much that it feels overly designed.

I will give the costume people this though... while I don't like the design changes, within the context of the game they're fine. He still looks like Aquaman, and his powerset is among my favorite in the game (I actually used him as my game avatar for awhile). It just nags at me when we get the closeups of his upper torso and there's only one spot that retains the classic orange.

(speaking of the armor thing, there actually is a full armored look on the "regime" costume, but I'm not fond of it.)

That said, there are some costumes from this game I really liked. I recently made a post on tumblr about my frustration with Bane's Asylum attire carrying over into City (Him, Scarecrow, and Ivy just had horrible outfits in that first game... Harley too, but she was at least updated) but I LOVE his outfits in Injustice. I'd prefer the regular to the Regime look, but I would happily spend $200 for either costume in the same scale as the Arkham City stuff.

Actually, that's a great point, 'Mato.  Aquaman's New 52 costume would be fine, but that's mostly because it's basically just his classic costume with a collar.  I don't really think of it as something new, I suppose.

What do you guys think of Captain Marvel's default costume? I think its pretty awesome, far better than what DC came up with for the new 52 look.

laughing paradox

I love Hawkgirl's alternate costume. Great design there.

Lobo looks cool. Excited to get him.

I've been running through some characters on "classic" mode to see some of the different endings... some are good, some are ok, but... superman's is disgusting. It annoys me in like 6 different ways.

Spoiler
basically, after defeating alt. supes, reg.supes gets all concerned that he might go nuts some day and decides to take steps. He places a kryptonite capsule in his chest, set to go off and kill him should a remote device be activated. Who has this device you ask? every member of the justice league has it on a rotating basis... except for batman, because he's not trustworthy enough to weild that kind of power.

No. That is potentially the dumbest thing ever.

Hey Mato, about that ending
Spoiler
NetherRealm is known for doing stuff like that to get a reaction from the players.

Next DLC character

Cassandra would be more fitting than Babs, but i guess they want consistency because she's the main comic batgirl too...Not a huge fan of design tbh.

Hey Mato, about that ending
Spoiler
NetherRealm is known for doing stuff like that to get a reaction from the players.

and that justifies it how? A stupid ending is as stupid ending, especially when aspects of it conflict with the story YOU YOURSELF SET UP.
Spoiler
edit: just to clarify this, since I wrote it on my way into class, I'm actually not that upset by the superman ending... it's stupid and irritating, but it's a small part of the game as a whole and I don't want to derail discussion on an otherwise decent game to discuss it.

What I do have problem with, however, is morgan's statement... he's basically implying that because Netherrealm includes certain story segments to annoy players, that I should forgive them for doing the same thing here. That's illogical. Including story points that derail what you have established in your game is not only unprofessional, but a slap in the face to the people who buy your products. Yes, it's not so bad that I wouldn't still reccommend the game, but I'm also not thrilled with a blatant and annoying attempt to add shock value for its own sake. We bemoan comic writers for killing off major characters in event books to generate shock value, and this is no different.

Anyway, Batgirl. Yay, cool character, can't wait to get her, cassie and cassandra are still potential alt skins so yeah.

captmorgan72

Lol, it doesn't justify anything Mato, its just what they do. I think its a pretty ridiculous ending too, but I've come to expect that from NRS.

JeyNyce

GL has the dumbest ending IMO, it's incomplete.

From Injustice on Facebook:

Besides Wonder Woman #600 & Classic Harley Quinn, the Bad Girls Skin pack includes Catwoman's Selina Kyle Skin!

Here's all the info on tomorrow's DLC:
- Lobo will be available for $4.99, or free to Season Pass holders.
- Batman's Flashpoint skin is FREE with the compatibility pack.
- The Bad Girls & Teen Titans skin packs will be available for $2.99 each, and are not included in the Season Pass.

I like Batman's Flashpoint look.

I already have Lobo, but I think I'm going to wait on the skin packs until they start selling them in bundles, down the line. I'm pretty certain they will.

detourne_me

Is anybody not using their wb login for the game? I've got quite a bit of progress on the iOS game, so if you were to log into your console game with my I'd you'd get my unlocked skins (batman beyond, new 52 GL and others.)

Tomato

I'd settle for it accepting my actual WBID right now. grah.

MJB

Do you have any tips on earning points on the iOS version, Detourne? Would love to have enough to unlock Batman Beyond.

detourne_me

TIPS for iOS:
1. Get silver characters and then gold characters if you can,  they make it much better.

2. buy booster packs instead of individual characters, sure it's a random choice, but they are cheaper, and come with supporting cards too.  also, if you get two of the same card, you upgrade the character to 'elite' levels,  much better.

3. How can I afford booster packs?  Just grind,  usually the Bonus Levels, although more difficult, give more money.

4. Save the money, only upgrade a few characters into "money-makers", then when they are higher levels, and can "solo" lower ranked fights, bring in the low level characters as support,  they will level quickly.

5. The Flash is probably my favorite character in the game so far.  His special minigames are much easier than the 'tap-tap-tap' of GL, Sinestro, Bane characters.

6. Nightwing and Green Arrow are incredibly powerful at taking down bigger opponents.  Nightwing's heavy attack is very easy to pull combos of, and they push back characters out of fighting range,  plus his power drain special is long range.   He quickly neutralizes big guys like Solomon Grundy.

7. One of the best special attacks I've come across so far,  in terms of minigame ease, is Silver Catwoman's 2nd level attack.  its a 'tap-the-circles' game with generous time-limit and very generous damage,  it's able to KO two different opponents, similar to Bane's dropkick.

8. If you have a large roster of characters, you don't need to use any "recharge" cards.  if your main guys are out of energy, just play as lower level characters until they regain energy.

9. Don't fight losing battles,  yes, you do get XP for losing a match, but no money.  If you can't get past some people, go down a lower rung and level up.

and most importantly...

10. Don't get too frustrated, you don't really need to spend any money on IAP. Just remember, it's a free game, and you can walk away from it.

Wow,  a lot more than I thought I would write,  if anyone finds these tips useful,  I can also write a few tips for the Iron Man 3 iOS game too. Or Avengers Initiative.

Shogunn2517

I looked but I didn't see anyone mention this.  But my MAJOR problem with this game isn't costume designs or actions of certain characters.  But the fact Superman hitting certain characters the way he hits them in game, it typically would mean certain death for MOST let alone normal humans.  It's one thing for a human Johnny Cage to smack around a human Kung Lao, but the DC universe has quite a number of superhumans.  I know MKvDC had a plausibly silly explanation for this but it had one.  Does this?

Spoiler
Yes, some sort of pills that give them superhuman attributes. Engineered by Regime Superman for his troops.
tbh I myself could care less about things like that, same in MvC where Hulk hits Ryu and co full force and they still stand. They didn't give any explanation whatsoever and I was ok with it because it's a fighting game and everyone should be able to take down everyone.

A bit more detailed explanation how humans can take hits from metahumans and not die.
Spoiler
Regime Superman used Kryptonian technology to engineer nanotech capsules that increase tissue and bone density by several thousand percent. He gave them to his army. Batman manages to get a supply of them and Harley Quinn steals a supply from Batman and gives them to Joker. This also explains how humans are able to summon bursts of strength to punch/kick people through buildings and such. You will notice that they still can't pick up cars or rip out trees like the metas can.
